Shipping & Returns


We are happy to offer you standard shipping and insurance! We can ship anywhere in the world! However, since Fern Hill products are so varied, shipping will be determined purchase by purchase. For example if a you are purchasing furniture we can store these until you can get here to pick it up, or we may deliver based on location and time of purchase. The cost of that delivery will need to be discussed based on the item. So, that will need to be handled via phone or email.

Additional Shipping Notes

Shipping days are Monday through Saturday am, excluding holidays.  Normal shipping charges are determined using USPS or UPS's online rate calculator. Shipping Surcharge: Some items may have an additional shipping and handling surcharge. (Please refer to paragraph above for details.)

Insurance is added to all US shipments.  We find this protects both the customer and ourselves.

International orders

Be aware that insurance is not available on all flat rate international orders.  Canada orders do not include duty and tax charges.  These will be billed separately from the shipping company.

Vintage Quilts are shipped at $25.00 anywhere in continental US.

New Quilts are shipped at $30.00 anywhere in continental US.

If you order more than one item and one or more of your items are not available and need to be ordered, your in-stock item(s) will be shipped per our normal processing time. Your ordered item(s) will be shipped separately at cheapest way when they become available.

All orders should be processed within four business days.

Currently, single orders cannot be divided and shipped to multiple addresses.

We want you to enjoy your purchase and if, for some reason you don’t, please notify us via email or call us at 319.622.3627 to discuss the problem. All sales are final, but we are happy to exchange your purchase. You are responsible for the shipping costs, both to return the item and to ship out the new item.  Please note that all original items or commission pieces may not be returned or exchanged and we cannot refund gift certificates or shipping costs. Additionally, we are unable to refund gift wrapping charges and cannot accept them as a return. All returned goods must be in original and resalable condition.

To make a return, please repackage the item in its original packaging (if possible). Include your packing slip/receipt that was enclosed with your purchase. Kindly send the package prepaid and insured up to the value of the items being returned to:

For your security, please return your gift with an insured carrier (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS Parcel Post) and retain your receipt. Fern Hill Gifts and Quilts is not responsible for items damaged or lost in transit.

Kindly allow us two to three weeks to process you return.

Damaged Merchandise

Please check your item immediately for any damages upon receipt, as all damage claims will need to be made within three days of receipt. You will need to keep all of the original packaging and materials. For damages incurred on items shipped via UPS, please call UPS Damage Claims at (800) 742-5877.
